Refrigerant flows continuously in the system. Each cycle includes four processes: compression, condensation, throttling and evaporation.
Compression process
When the compressor is working, the low pressure and low temperature gaseous refrigerant from the evaporator is sucked in, and after being compressed, it becomes the high pressure and high temperature gaseous refrigerant and is discharged into the condenser.
Condensation process
In the condenser, the refrigerant exchanges heat with the outside air. As the temperature of the refrigerant is higher than that of the air outside the vehicle, the high pressure and high temperature gaseous refrigerant emits heat and transfers the heat to the air outside the vehicle passing through the condenser, which condenses itself into a high pressure and high temperature liquid refrigerant and flows to the throttling device.
Throttling process
In the throttling device, the high pressure and high temperature liquid refrigerant changes into the low pressure and low temperature liquid refrigerant and enters the evaporator.
Evaporation process
In the evaporator, the refrigerant exchanges heat with the air in the vehicle. Since the temperature of the refrigerant is lower than that of the air in the vehicle, the low pressure and low temperature liquid refrigerant absorbs the heat of the air in the vehicle flowing through the evaporator and vaporizes itself into a low pressure and low temperature gaseous refrigerant.
